Our Marketing team plays a central role in shaping the Napo experience. Napo’s Copywriter is the guardian of the brand voice. Ensuring a warm tone and clear message across everything we do in Marketing and Product (while staying legally compliant) is the top priority. The next priority: injecting warm, simple, grown-up humour and plenty of heart. This role reports directly to our Head of Marketing and works closely with product, designers, compliance, customer service and social media.
The Role
We’re looking for a Copywriter to join our team and write creative and conversion copy across the full range of digital channels as well as some print/OOH collateral. Within this role you will be translating some tricky concepts and caveats from legalese and insurance jargon into friendly, clear and benefit-driven copy. We are looking for someone who is able to manage projects from briefing to delivery and execution, including compliance sign-off and peer reviews (for pets-pertise) whilst also fighting for respect and inclusion of cats 🤪
What You’ll Be Doing
Ideate, write and edit compelling copy across digital channels (email, performance marketing, landing pages, SEO content, organic social) and some print/OOH ones too (leaflets, event staging, taxi and TfL advertising).
Partner with our Customer Operations team to continually improve customers’ experience from the top of the funnel all the way down.
Learn from tests in paid social advertising to refine our brand style and improve how we translate our messaging into creative.
Work on building the central Napo brand based on our values and identity work that we’ve already started. Think of ways to roll this out throughout our whole presence.
Who You’ll Be Working With
With our Senior Designer to craft and iterate original creative that speaks to our brand values and markets Napo to our Ideal Customer Profiles. Projects can be anything from landing pages to physical materials for events and everything in-between
With our Product Marketer to bring important messaging and stats to life on our key customer acquisition and retention channels
With our Head of Marketing to come up with comms to leads and customers that help them through our journeys, excite them with promotions and benefits, and keep them feeling valued and satisfied
With our Product Designer to ensure sound, friendly, simple copy on all our new and improved flows
With our Head of Compliance to find good solutions that allow us to stay clear and compliant, but avoid jargon and long word counts
With our Social Media Manager to bring our most creative and flair-filled voice to organic social concepts
What We’re Looking For
At least 5 years writing B2C copy, bonus if it is in a regulated industry
Experience with both product and marketing copy
Proven experience turning information into ‘story’ and making something complex or highly regulated sound easy and friendly
Experience editing other writers’ long- and medium-form content so it’s web-ready (and even better, commissioning blog content and managing publication)
A strong sense of taste and brand-building towards guidelines and insights
Passion for good creative and marketing/advertising that connects to real people
Proactive, solutions-oriented - confident navigating projects without clear stakeholder mapping
Exceptional attention to detail (including a flair for when to break rules)
Some experience in product/UX writing will be helpful
