As we scale, we’re looking for a dynamic and innovative Head of Marketing to drive our marketing strategy and help us reach new heights.
What we're looking for
You will be a key leader in our company, overseeing all marketing efforts, including growth, PR, community management, brand development (e.g. events), and customer acquisition. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a critical role in shaping our brand’s future and driving the strategic initiatives that will lead to rapid and sustained growth.
Responsibilities

Brand & Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives. This includes both digital and traditional marketing channels. To execute your strategy, you will own the following:
- Brand Development: Build and maintain a strong brand presence in the market, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity across all touchpoints.
- Growth Marketing: Drive the overall strategy for customer acquisition and retention, working closely with our external agency to ensure campaigns are optimized for performance across channels such as paid search, social media, email, and partnerships.
- Public Relations: Lead PR efforts to increase brand visibility and manage the company’s public image, including managing media relationships, press releases, and event planning.
- Community Management: Cultivate and engage our community of pet owners, building a loyal customer base through social media, forums, events, and other platforms.
- Content Strategy: Oversee the creation of compelling content that resonates with our target audience, including blogs, newsletters, videos, and more.
- Partnerships & Collaborations: Identify and establish strategic partnerships to drive growth and enhance our brand’s reach.
- Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing team as the company scales.
- Budget Management: Manage the marketing budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to maximize impact.
Qualifications
- Experience: You have led or been part of a B2C team that has achieved incredible growth in the past (minimum 7 years experience). There is a strong emphasis on growth marketing, brand development, and PR.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: You can use analytics and performance metrics to inform marketing strategies, optimize campaigns, and report on marketing ROI to the executive team.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading and scaling marketing teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that drive growth and brand awareness.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience in public speaking and media relations.
- Creativity: A creative thinker who can develop innovative campaigns and solutions that differentiate our brand in the marketplace.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to pivot quickly as needed.
Good to have
- Passion for Pets: A genuine passion for pets and a commitment to improving the lives of pet parents.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the financial services or insurance sector is desirable. Familiarity with regulatory requirements, customer behaviour in financial markets, and insurance industry trends will be a significant advantage in shaping strategies that resonate with our target audience and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
